Olympian Simone Biles took to social media to break her silence days after her brother, Tevin Biles-Thomas, was charged with murder in a triple homicide.

“My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families,” the 22-year-old athlete posted on Twitter. “There is nothing that I can say that will heal anyone’s pain, but I do want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy as we deal with our pain. XO.”

  Tevin Biles, 24, was arrested and charged with murder in a New Year’s Eve shooting that reportedly left three people dead. Police charged him with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury, according to a statement from Cleveland police.

The three men who were killed were identified as Delvante Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and Devaughn Gibson, 23. Tragic. After investigating, the police determined it was Simone's brother "as a shooter in the incident."

Before she directly addressed her brother's arrest, she posted a subliminal tweet following news he had been arrested. “Eating my feelings don’t talk to me," she tweeted.

Simone Biles is addressing her brother’s triple-homicide arrest for the first time.

The Olympic gymnast, 22, shared a statement on Twitter Monday, four days after her brother, Tevin Biles-Thomas, was taken into custody.

Biles wrote she was still having a hard time processing the news.

“My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families, Biles wrote on social media. “There is nothing that I can say that will heal anyone’s pain, but I do want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.”

The sports star’s sibling, Biles-Thomas, was arrested Thursday for allegedly killing three men at a New Year’s Eve party on Dec. 31, 2018.

The 24-year-old, who is an active-duty U.S. Army service member based in Fort Stewart, Georgia, is charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury, according to a statement from Cleveland police.

The shooting took place at an Airbnb rental when an “uninvited group” entered the home and “an altercation ensued” between the group and guests, Cleveland police allege.

Delvante Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and Devaughn Gibson, 23, were killed.

While this is her first time addressing her sibling’s arrest, Biles has not been quiet on social media this week.

Hours after her brother was arrested on murder charges, Biles posted a message on Twitter. “Eating my feelings don’t talk to me,” she tweeted on Thursday.

She also shared some photos from her Labor Day festivities with her friends on Instagram Sunday amid the news of “Girls day to drink happy thoughts,” the athlete wrote alongside her post, in which she and two friends wear bikini tops and high-waisted denim shorts.

Biles’ boyfriend, Stacey Ervin Jr., alluded to her family in an Instagram Story on Saturday, showing his girlfriend support in this difficult time.

“The strongest people I’ve ever met have not been given an easier life,” the post on Friday read. “They’ve learned to create strength and happiness from dark places.”

Biles and her brother did not grow up in the same household, with the gymnast being raised mostly in Texas, while Biles-Thomas grew up in Ohio.

Born in Columbus, Biles and her three siblings were placed in foster care at a young age because their mother, Shannon Biles, struggled with addiction, The Washington Post previously reported.

When Biles was age 6, she and her sister Adria were adopted by their grandfather and raised in Houston, CBS News reported. Meanwhile, her brother and sister Ashley were adopted by their great aunt and lived in Cleveland, local station WOIO reported.

Biles-Thomas is being held at Liberty County Jail in Hinesville, Georgia. He is scheduled for an arraignment hearing in Cleveland on Sept. 13, according to court records.

Court records do not list an attorney for Biles-Thomas and he has not yet entered a plea.

Tevin Biles-Thomas, Brother of U.S. Gymnast, Is Charged in a Triple Murder

Tevin Biles-Thomas, whose sister is the champion gymnast Simone Biles, was arrested on Thursday and charged with the murder of three people who were shot and killed at a party in Cleveland last New Year’s Eve.

Mr. Biles-Thomas, 24, is an active duty member of the United States Army who was stationed at Fort Stewart in Georgia at the time of his arrest, an Army spokesman confirmed. He was charged with homicide, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury.

The shooting happened at a house party on Dec. 31, according to a joint statement from the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office.

“Around 11:30 p.m., an uninvited group walked into the house and an altercation ensued between the uninvited guests and those who were invited,” the statement said. “The altercation led to gunfire and multiple victims were shot, three of which were fatal. Several party attendees fled the scene.”

DelVaunte Johnson, 19; Toshaun Banks, 21; and DeVaughn Gibson, 23, were killed in the shooting. Two others were injured.

Mr. Biles-Thomas is one of Ms. Biles’s three biological siblings, but they were not raised in the same household. She and her younger sister, Adria, were adopted by their grandparents, Nellie and Ron Biles, at a young age and raised in the Houston area. Ms. Biles has said she considers Ron and Nellie to be her mother and father.

“My birth mother suffered from drug addiction, and when I was just 3 years old, my siblings and I were removed from her custody,” Ms. Biles wrote in an essay for CNN last year. “From there, we bounced around until I was 6 and my grandparents made the brave move to adopt us. Although I was young when my foster care ordeal began, I remember how it felt to be passed off and overlooked.”

The nature of Mr. Biles-Thomas’s relationship with his sister Simone is unclear, but she has shared photographs of the two of them on social media.

Ms. Biles is an Olympic gold medalist and the most decorated American gymnast ever. Her prodigious talent has been a bright spot for U.S.A. Gymnastics, an organization that is otherwise in turmoil.

In the United States Gymnastics Championships this month, Ms. Biles cemented her status atop the sport. Her winning performance included two skills never before executed in a women’s gymnastics competition: a triple double (two flips with three twists) in floor exercise and a double-double dismount (two flips with two twists) off the balance beam.

In a tweet on Thursday evening, Ms. Biles said, “Eating my feelings don’t talk to me.” Representatives of Ms. Biles did not respond to a request for comment on Friday morning.

Simone Biles' Brother Arrested in Ohio Triple Murder

The brother of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting in which three people were killed and two others were injured on New Year's Eve in Cleveland, NBC News reported.

Tevin Biles-Thomas, 24, of Cleveland, was arrested Thursday at Fort Stewart in Georgia in the fatal shooting Dec. 31 at an Airbnb rental property that left three men dead, according to a joint statement from the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. 

The statement said an "uninvited group" entered the house and "an altercation ensued" between them and the invited guests. The fight led to gunfire. 

Delvante Johnson, 19, and Toshaun Banks, 21, were pronounced dead at the scene, and Devaughn Gibson, 23, was brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

Biles-Thomas, who is on active duty with the Army, has been charged with six counts of murder, three counts of voluntary manslaughter, five counts of felonious assault and one count of perjury, according to prosecutors.

It was not immediately clear Friday if Biles-Thomas has a lawyer.

The brother of US Olympic gold medal gymnast Simone Biles has been charged with murder.

Tevin Biles-Thomas was arrested on Thursday in connection with a shooting on New Years Eve that left three men dead and two more injured.

The 24-year-old – who serves in the US Army – was charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury.

He is being held in prison in Georgia, where he was arrested.

According to a joint statement by the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office seen by US media, the shooting took place in Mr Biles-Thomas’ hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.

The statement said a fight broke out after an “uninvited group” appeared at the party, leading to the deaths of Delvante Johnson, 19, and Toshaun Banks, 21, at the scene. Devaughn Gibson, 23, died at the hospital.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley praised the “relentless persistence” of Cleveland’s detectives for the arrest.

An arraignment is scheduled for 13 September in Ohio. It is not yet known when Mr Biles-Thomas will be extradited from Georgia.

Simone Biles won four gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She is the most decorated US gymnast and is considered to be one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Ms Biles’s last tweet reads, “eating my feelings don’t talk to me”.

  An Olympic gymnast just received devastating news about her brother.

24-year-old Tevin Biles-Thomas, has been arrested and charged in a New Year's Eve shooting that left three people dead, according to reports.

Tevin, the brother of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, has been charged with murder in a New Year’s Eve shooting that left three people dead. Police charged him with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury, according to a statement from Cleveland police.

It's reported the shooting happened at a NYE party around 11:30pm on December 31, 2018. Apparently, a group of people who weren't invited popped up at the house party and “an altercation ensued” between the group and guests. The altercation quickly escalated and gunfire erupted, resulting in multiple people being shot, three of whom died.

The three men who were killed were identified as Delvante Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and Devaughn Gibson, 23. Tragic. After investigating, the police determined it was Simone's brother "as a shooter in the incident."

NBC reports:

Biles-Thomas is being held at Liberty County Jail in Hinesville, Georgia. An arraignment is set for Sept. 13 in Cleveland, although it is unknown when he may be extradited. It was not immediately clear Friday if Biles-Thomas has a lawyer.

It's reported he was taken into custody around 3:30pm yesterday (August 29th).

Simone Biles is turning to her friends.

The Olympic gymnast, 22, shared some photos from her Labor Day festivities with her friends on Instagram Sunday amid the news of her brother’s arrest in connection with a triple-homicide.

“Girls day to drink happy thoughts,” the athlete wrote alongside her post, in which she and two friends wear bikini tops and high-waisted denim shorts.

She later shared a larger group photo of her friends on the pool deck in her Instagram Stories.

Her post comes just days after her brother, Tevin Biles-Thomas, was arrested for allegedly killing three men at a party. According to an official with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia, Biles’ 24-year-old brother was arrested on Thursday and taken into custody at about 3:30 p.m.

Biles-Thomas, of Cleveland, is charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury, according to a statement from Cleveland police.

The alleged shooting took place at a New Year’s Eve party on Dec. 31, 2018, at an Airbnb rental, when an “uninvited group” entered the home and “an altercation ensued” between the group and guests, Cleveland police say.

Delvante Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and Devaughn Gibson, 23, were killed.

Hours after her brother was arrested on murder charges, Biles posted a message on Twitter. “Eating my feelings don’t talk to me,” she tweeted on Thursday.

Biles’ boyfriend, Stacey Ervin Jr., alluded to her family in an Instagram Story on Saturday, showing his girlfriend support in this difficult time.

“The strongest people I’ve ever met have not been given an easier life,” the post on Friday read. “They’ve learned to create strength and happiness from dark places.”

Biles and her brother did not grow up in the same household, with the gymnast being raised mostly in Texas, while Biles-Thomas grew up in Ohio.

Born in Columbus, Biles and her three siblings were placed in foster care at a young age because their mother, Shannon Biles, struggled with addiction, The Washington Post previously reported.

When Biles was age 6, she and her sister Adria were adopted by their grandfather and raised in Houston, CBS News reported. Meanwhile, her brother and sister Ashley were adopted by their great aunt and lived in Cleveland, local station WOIO reported.

In a statement to PEOPLE, USA Gymnastics said, “In this challenging time for Simone Biles and her family, USA Gymnastics offers our continued support to Simone, her family and her gymnastics family. This is a very personal and private situation for the Biles family and we will respect their privacy and hope others will do the same.”

Biles-Thomas is being held at Liberty County Jail in Hinesville, Georgia. He is scheduled for an arraignment hearing in Cleveland on Sept. 13, according to court records.

Court records do not list an attorney for Biles-Thomas and he has not yet entered a plea.

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles’ brother, Tevin, charged in triple murder

CLEVELAND — The man arrested in the murders of three people in a New Year’s Eve shooting in Cleveland is the brother of Olympian Simone Biles.

On Thursday, authorities announced Tevin Biles-Thomas was the alleged shooter.

On Dec. 31, 2018, according to authorities, an uninvited group of people walked into a house in Cleveland and an altercation happened between the guests.

That altercation led to gunfire. Multiple people were shot; three of them were killed.  Police said the victims were  Delvante Johnson, 19; Toshaun Banks, 21; and Devaughn Gibson, 23.

Biles-Thomas was arrested in Georgia and is being held at the Liberty County Jail in that state.

The Cuyahoga County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Biles-Thomas with the following:

6 counts of Murder

3 counts of Voluntary Manslaughter

5 counts of Felonious Assault

1 count of Perjury

Biles-Thomas is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, Sept. 13 at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center.

Simone Biles and her reps have not yet responded to WJW’s requests for comment.

What a ChickenFest!

The music was great, the food was great and the weather was perfect for the 12th annual ChickenFest.

The event large crowds to The Record Park at the corner of Forth and E streets in North Wilkesboro during the festival’s run from Friday to Sunday.

Jimmy Owen earned the title of The Voice of ChickenFest as he emceed both Saturday and Sunday. WKBC Radio’s Ed Racey oversaw the announcing on Friday evening.

The Ward Eller Band kicked off the music on Friday evening. Larry Griffin manned the Tut Tayor Spotlight Stage for the evening, making three appearances.

Besides Eller’s group, Summit Strings (a string quartet and crowd favorite), BackPorch Bluegrass and Bandits Roost appeared on the Sammy Lankford Stage in the Tyson Pavilion on Friday evening.

Music resumed Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with The Dixie Duo (Lynn Stellmach and Kirk Walker), Jimmy Owen, Uncle Joe and the Shady Rest (Jim Trice, Marty Absher, Devin Huie, Andrew Triplett, Larry Skipper and Elizabeth Carter) and Gabriella Lankford.

Members of VFW Post 1142’s Honor Guard raised the flag shortly after noon. Record Publisher Ken Welborn welcomed the crowd and introduced North Wilkesboro Mayor Robert Johnson, who welcomed folks on behalf of the Town of North Wilkesboro and then sang the National Anthem.

Devin Huie and Larry Skipper then performed on the spotlight stage.

Other performances of the day came from Copper Creek, Jimmy Owen and Friends, Heidi Holloway, Tatum Holloway, Sonny Remington with Mike Earp, Ralph Clanton, Rude Mood, Ernest Johnson and Friends, Alex Key, Black Spotted Banana, Misty River Band, Devaughn Ladd, Adam Younce and Friends, Doreen Pinkerton and Matt Myers, The Josh Perryman Band, Roger and Michelle Cranford with Jimmy Owen and Marty Absher, Ben Holbrook, Crabgrass, Holbrook with Rick Gaughan and Niki Hamby and The Elkville String Band with a slew of special guests, minus regular singer/guitarist Herb Key.

Jimmy Owen, Adam Younce, Larry Skipper and Larry Griffin were energetic heroes of the festival with their multiple appearances on stage.

Sunday morning at ChickenFest began with a church service led by Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame member David Johnson of Purlear.  He played his late uncle Grady’s Gibson guitar during the service.

Padriac Wildermuth was first one stage for and afternoon of mostly gospel and spiritual music.  Doug Davis and Friends were next. Jimmy Owen manned the spotlight stage. The last band performing was Doreen Pinkerton and Friends, which included  Kevin Triplette, Matt Myers, Darren Gambill, Debra Bailey and DeVaughn Ladd..

Owen closed out the show.

Blake Sebastian and crew cooked BBQ chicken dinners. Rogers Restaurant of North Wilkesboro prepared chicken pie, grilled chicken breast sandwiches, chicken on a stick, chicken hot dogs, grilled chicken, and fried chicken tenders.

The children’s play area, overseen by Laura Welborn, was, as always a big hit with youngsters, offering tea parties, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, water balloons, squirt guns and just plain fun. Welborn was assisted Saturday by Nancy Sorbello.
